To reserve a spot in the program, students must include a deposit along with their application materials.  This is normally collected in October and amounts to about $750.   Of this amount about $50 is an application fee that is nonrefundable.  An additional $100 is collected to cover trip gratuities, a trip t-shirt, and a mobile phone for use during the program.  The remainder of the deposit is deducted from the final program cost.
