INTRODUCTION

During the summer of 2002,
I found myself spending weekends in New York City.
The outings were my first visits of any significance.

As I wandered about, the vitality of the city
that had endured "9/11" became apparent.
I photographed the people and places
 I found interesting
with an Olympus digital point-and-shoot camera.

Unencumbered with heavy, expensive equipment,
I tried to capture what I saw and felt in a city
that seemed to be bouncing back to normalcy.
