Gimme Green named IDA/David L. Wolper Finalist
Gimme Green, produced by 2006 graduates Isaac Brown and Eric Flagg, is one of six finalists for the IDA/David L. Wolper Student Documentary Achievement Award. One of the most prestigious student awards, this $1,000 cash prize is presented annually to recognize exceptional achievement in non-fiction film and video production at the university level and to bring greater public and industry awareness to the work of students in the documentary field. Other finalists include student documentary filmmakers from Stanford University, UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism, Loyola Marymount University and The Sam Spiegel School of Film and Television in Jerusalem.
The six nominated films will be featured October 28th at UNDER XPOSD, a one day festival in Pasadena, California that celebrates student documentary filmmakers from around the world. The festival will also present screenings of current documentary features and panel discussions about issues today’s students will face in the digital world. UNDER XPOSD is the first collaboration between the Art Center College of Design and the International Documentary Association (IDA) in presenting the work of finalists from around the world selected for consideration for the IDA/David L. Wolper Student Achievement Award.
The Award winner will be announced at gala ceremonies in Los Angeles on December 8, 2006. The winning entry will be shown at IDA’s Docufest™ on December 9.
